FLCL - Episode 2, "Fire Starter"
(We see a fire burning.)
Mamimi (V.O.) - I saw a god the other day. (We see the bridge. A large fire rages nearby.) By the river, on a rainy afternoon. He helped a kitten that was left all alone. (We see black feathers falling.) It's a god that only I can see. A black-winged angel that came down from the heavens just for me.
(We see Mamimi's POV as she plays a hand-held video-game.)
Naota (O.C.) - What are you doing?
Mamimi - Huh? (She looks up. We see Nandaba Naota, looking down at us. He looks pretty steamed. Mamimi responds with excitement.) Hey, Takkun!
(We see the two of them facing

(Ext., Day. We see mountains. We see a bridge. Our POV pans back and forth as several vehicles pass over the bridge.)
Mamimi (O.C.) - Legs spread, same width as the shoulders, body tight, then hit the ball like you're defeating the enemy. Here, the pinky finger is the key. And then you just hit, hit, hit! Ka-King, Bingo!
Naota (O.C.) - What are you talking about?
Mamimi (O.C.) - He, who conquers the left side, conquers the world, Chief.
(Under the bridge, a girl wearing a school uniform, Samejima Mamimi, stands, swinging a baseball bat. A boy, Nandaba Naota, sits a few feet away, writing.)
JoyceHaving kicked the man in the balls and relieved him of his belongings, Joyce wasn't quite sure what to do next. She could run, but he might come after her the next minute. If she tied him up here, in the middle of nowhere, he might be eaten by wolves; or starve to death. Besides, she didn't have any rope. She could kill him... perhaps. The thought left a bitter taste in her mouth.
